Gabdullin: a silk soul and a fiery heart

Today marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of Malik Gabdullin—Hero of the Soviet Union, academician, writer, and public figure. Serik Negimov, a Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philology, Professor, and personal fund holder at the National Archives of the RK, has dedicated nearly 40 years to researching the life of this legendary hero and scholar.

Based on these valuable records, Negimov published a research work titled «Malik Gabdullin» in 2001, which he expanded significantly in 2015 into a comprehensive philological and source-study monograph.

The collection preserves insightful letters and unique records that have never been published before. Ensuring no detail went unnoticed, S. Negimov prepared and published hundreds of scientific and literary-critical articles about the hero across various publications.

Serik Negimov’s immense contribution to the innovative analysis of moral and personal issues in the national art of the word will undoubtedly live forever in literary science. Meanwhile, the heroic deeds, teaching legacy, and noble character of Malik Gabdullin—war memoirist and master of folk literature—will continue to serve as a role model for future generations.
