The Consolidated List of Organizations – Sources of Acquisition of the Republican State Institution “National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan” of the Committee for Archival Affairs and Records Management of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Consolidated List) was compiled as of February 1, 2026.

The List includes 246 organizations (158 state-owned and 88 non-state) and 33 potential sources of acquisition (4 state-owned and 29 non-state), for a total of 279 organizations.

The Consolidated List was prepared on the basis of the “Methodological Recommendations on the Identification and Compilation of the List of Organizations that are Sources of Acquisition and Potential Sources of the State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and the “Model Lists of Types of Organizations that are Sources of Acquisition and Potential Sources of the State Archives,” approved on April 6, 2016, by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the “Scheme for Compiling the List of Organizations – Sources of Acquisition and Potential Sources of the State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

The List of acquisition sources of the National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan is updated on an ongoing basis in direct cooperation with organizations, during on-site visits, and in the course of developing records retention schedules and arranging archival documents.

The List consists of two parts:

  1. A list of institutions, organizations, and enterprises that are sources of acquisition for the National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  2. A list of institutions, organizations, and enterprises that are potential sources of acquisition for the National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Consolidated List includes institutions, organizations, and enterprises representing 19 sectors of state, economic, and public activity in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within major sectors, sub-sectors and specific areas of activity are identified.

State-owned organizations included in the List are divided into state institutions and state enterprises (including those operating under the right of economic management and other forms). Non-state organizations include joint-stock companies, non-commercial joint-stock companies, limited liability partnerships, and individual entrepreneurs.

In accordance with the main criteria for determining sources of acquisition, 246 institutions, organizations, and enterprises have been included in the Consolidated List under the following sections:

  1. State authorities (including the judiciary, justice bodies, and the prosecutor’s office), Nos. 1–75 – 75 record creators;
  2. Planning, statistics, labor, and social protection, Nos. 76–80 – 5 record creators;
  3. Industry, Nos. 81–115 – 35 record creators;
  4. Agriculture, water and forestry, and land resources, Nos. 116–134 – 19 record creators;
  5. Environmental protection and monitoring, Nos. 135–136 – 2 record creators;
  6. Transport and communications, Nos. 137–145 – 9 record creators;
  7. Construction and architecture, Nos. 146–149 – 4 record creators;
  8. Geology and subsoil use, Nos. 150–151 – 2 record creators;
  9. Trade and public catering, No. 152 – 1 record creator;
  10. Supply, procurement, and distribution, Nos. 153–154 – 2 record creators;
  11. Financing, lending, development of small and medium-sized businesses, and insurance, Nos. 155–169 – 15 record creators;
  12. Housing and communal services, No. 170 – 1 record creator;
  13. State revenues, taxation, and state property, No. 171 – 1 record creator;
  14. Healthcare, physical culture and sports, Nos. 172–198 – 27 record creators;
  15. Education, Nos. 199–226 – 28 record creators;
  16. Information activities, Nos. 227–237 – 11 record creators;
  17. Science and scientific support, Nos. 238–243 – 6 record creators;
  18. Culture and arts, Nos. 244–255 – 12 record creators;
  19. Public associations, No. 256 – 1 record creator.

At the Republican State Institution “National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the updating of the List of acquisition sources is carried out on an ongoing basis.
