Department for work with documents of personal origin

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the National Archival Fund and
Archives”, one of the sources of the formation of the National Archival Fund are documents of personal origin.

The Department for work with documents of personal origin works with documents of funds of personal origin, which provide information about the periods of development, prosperity of Kazakhstan, as well as literature, art and culture. The Department is engaged in the collection, scientific and technical processing and promotion of documents of state and public figures, poets and writers, outstanding scientists, artists (festive events, documentary exhibitions, meetings, etc. d.), namely, identification of potential owners of documents of personal origin, clarification of the biographical data of the owner of the fund, the main stages of its activities according to the relevant sources. Conducts negotiations with the owners of the fund in order to receive documents to the National Archive: preparation and conclusion of cooperation agreements, examination of the value of documents of personal origin, selection of documents to be returned to the owner of the fund, primary systematization of documents, formation of conditional cases, compilation of an inventory of documents and cases of personal origin and preparation of them for consideration by the expert verification commission, transfer to state storage.
