Representatives of the National Archives of Singapore Visited the National Archives of Kazakhstan
As part of the III International Congress of Archivists “Digital Archive EXPO” held in Astana, a delegation from the National Archives of Singapore visited the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The delegation included Dr. Phang Lai Tee, Deputy Director and Senior Principal Archivist of the National Archives of Singapore, Ms. June Pok, Archivist of the Audiovisual Archives Division, and Ms. Nicole Soh, Archivist of the Records Management Division.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the main areas of activity of the National Archives and exchanged views on the preservation of archival collections, document digitization, the development of electronic archival systems, and improving access to archival heritage.
The specialists of the National Archives presented the institution’s infrastructure, demonstrated the work of the restoration and conservation laboratories, the document digitization process, and the archival storage system. The parties also discussed the implementation of modern technologies in archival practice, digital transformation, and the development of international professional cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of professional exchange in the archival field and discussed opportunities for future cooperation.
