Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman Visited the National Archives

As part of the III International Congress of Archivists “Digital Archive EXPO” held in Astana, a delegation from the National Records and Archives Authority of the Sultanate of Oman visited the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of historical records and archives management was signed between the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Records and Archives Authority of the Sultanate of Oman. The document was signed by Rustam Ali, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Hamed bin Mohammed Al-Duwaini, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Omani delegation included Zakariya Yahya Abdullah Al-Harrasi, Coordinator of the Chairman’s Office; Raya bint Amer Al-Hajri, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation; Azzan Khamis Mohammed Al-Subhi, Director of the Quality Department of the National Records and Archives Authority; Mohammed Abdullah Saleh Al-Bahrani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Talal Hamed Said Al-Yaqubi, Deputy Head of Mission.
During the meeting, the guests were introduced to the activities of the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan and exchanged experience in archival management, document preservation, restoration, digitization, and the application of modern archival technologies. The staff of the National Archives organized a special tour for the delegation, presenting the restoration and conservation laboratories, digitization facilities, and the institution’s technical infrastructure.
The parties emphasized the importance of further developing international cooperation in the archival field, promoting professional exchange, and strengthening collaboration in preserving historical and cultural heritage.
