A Seminar on the Use of Restricted Distribution Documents Was Held at the National Archives

On 11–12 June 2026, the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a two-day seminar entitled “Organization of Work with Restricted Distribution Official Information.”
The event brought together specialists from central government bodies and organizations responsible for records management and archival affairs. The seminar aimed to explain legislative requirements related to restricted distribution official information and to facilitate the exchange of experience in document management and preservation.
The training program covered recent amendments to archival legislation, legal regulation of work with documents containing restricted information, requirements for developing departmental lists of documents marked “For Official Use Only” (FOUO), and rules for records management.
Participants also attended lectures on the appraisal of documents marked “FOUO,” file formation procedures, records classification systems, and the preservation of archival documents.
During the seminar, attendees were introduced to the main areas of activity of the National Archives and took part in an экскурсия showcasing archival technologies and digitization processes.
At the conclusion of the event, participants exchanged views, completed feedback surveys, and received certificates upon successful completion of the seminar program.
